Part (ii) HIV newly diagnosed cases per million population in IDUs, by year and by country - other EU countries with peak > 1 case /M population 2003-2008

Data provided by ECDC-WHO/Europe.

Data reported by end of 2009

Data are not comparable to those reported in previous years as cases were then reported by year of report. Data by year of diagnosis are closer to true trends in infection however some reporting delay in the most recent years is likely (data not adjusted for reporting delays).

(1) ECDC reports: 1 case in 2005 and 2 cases in 2007. These were changed to zero on request of the National Focal Point.

(2) New HIV reporting system started in 2003 (data from March to December)

(3) New HIV reporting system started in 2004.
