EU expert meeting on the EMCDDA key epidemiological indicator Drug Related Infectious Diseases (DRID)
The 2012 annual expert meeting of the key epidemiological indicator ‘Drug-related infectious diseases – DRID’ took place in Lisbon on 10 and 11 October. The meeting brought together 43 experts from EU Member States, Norway, Kosovo, Serbia and Turkey, and from invited institutions.
The first day was dedicated to reviewing progress in the ongoing implementation of the indicator and to discussing a future strategy. After a plenary session, the discussion on a future strategy for the indicator continued in parallel workshop. The second day was dedicated to presentations on epidemiological studies relevant to the DRID indicator and interventions related to infectious diseases among people who inject drugs.
