The role of the Budget Committee is to prepare the decisions to be taken by the Management Board or the Executive Committee on budgetary matters. To this end the Budget Committee usually meets three times a year; twice in the margins of the Management Board meetings.

The Budget Committee consists of five Management members or substitutes. It is composed of three members or substitutes representing Member States, and two representatives of the European Commission.
