EU Agency for Law Enforcement Training (CEPOL)

CEPOL (the EU Agency for Law Enforcement Training) is a decentralised European Union Agency established in 2005 with a mission to bring together senior police officers from police forces in Europe — essentially to support the development of a network — and encourage cross-border cooperation in the fight against crime, public security and law and order by organising training activities and research.

CEPOL–EMCDDA cooperation

Since November 2008, the EMCDDA and CEPOL have worked together closely, with the EMCDDA contributing to several workshops and conferences organised by Member States on behalf of CEPOL.

The EMCDDA provides contribution to CEPOL training activities on the EMCDDA itself, European drug markets and new psychoactive substances (NPS).While CEPOL contributes with its knowledge and network to the EMCDDA work on developing drug supply indicators as set out in the Council Conclusions on improving the monitoring of drug supply in the European Union and will provide access to their e-learning environment.

In November 2022, the EMCDDA and CEPOL signed a working arrangement, aimed at boosting learning and knowledge exchange in the area of security.
