Estimating the size of the main illicit retail drug markets in Europe

This report includes estimates of the total size of the retail drug market in the European Union (EU) in 2013 for cannabis, heroin, cocaine, amphetamines and ecstasy.

October 2018: An error has been corrected in the amount of ecstasy in the EU drug market on pages 4, 25 and 34.  The lower estimate for the amount of ecstasy in the EU is 78.9 million tablets, not 79.3, and the mid value for the amount of ecstasy in the EU + Norway + Turkey is 87.1 million tablets, not 59.9.
