The Swedish focal point is located within the Statens folkhälsoinstitut (SNIPH), a government agency operating under the Ministry of Health and Social Affairs. SNIPH aims to act on a broad strategic scale to improve public health, with a special emphasis on the determinants affecting groups that run the greatest health risk. The institute is responsible for monitoring and evaluating the attainment of national public health goals, and also for reporting to the government on public health issues.

About the EMCDDA

The European Monitoring Centre for Drugs and Drug Addiction (EMCDDA) is the reference point on drugs and drug addiction information in Europe. Inaugurated in Lisbon in 1995, it is one of the EU’s decentralised agencies. Read more >>
