Organisation
Overview
The EMCDDA's organisation consists of a Directorate to manage the Centre, a number of statutory bodies to advise and assist in the decision making process, and, finally, the various working units (which comprises the majority of the EMCDDA's staff) to run the Centre and ultimately deliver its output (reports, briefings, etc.).
Organisational breakdown
Below is a more detailed breakdown of the EMCDDA's organisation:
- two statutory bodies (the Management Board and the Scientific Committee);
- the Directorate;
- a Scientific division;
- four scientific units:
- Prevalence, consequences and data management (EPI) unit;
- Supply reduction and new trends (SAT) unit;
- Interventions, best practice and scientific partners (IBS) unit;
- Policy, evaluation and content coordination (POL) unit;
- two units that collaborate closely with the scientific units:
- the Reitox and international cooperation (RTX) unit;
- the Communication (COM) unit;
- two transversal supporting units:
- the Information and communication technology (ICT) unit;
- the Administration (ADM) unit.
In addition, the EMCDDA maintains close links with the National focal points of the European Information Network on Drugs and Drug Addiction (Reitox) and with other partner organisations.
